Blizzard wins lawsuit against RMT company, wins my heart

Arguably, if you're a WoW player, you're a peon for hire

Score one for the good guys. While I have given Blizzard flak for not taking a more aggressive stance against RMT and banning gold buyers, they get major points for winning a lawsuit against Peons4Hire, a gold farming/powerleveling company. According to Virtually Blind, In Game Dollar/Peons4Hire is forbidden from selling virtual assets for WoW or powerleveling services:

Blizzard's lawsuit against virtual item and power-leveling company In Game Dollar (doing business as Peons4Hire) has settled, resulting in a permanent injunction (.pdf) that essentially shuts down In Game Dollar's entire World of Warcraft operation. Though no monetary damages are specified, the injunction represents a complete victory for Blizzard. The news is likely to be well received by the World of Warcraft player community, which voiced widespread support for Blizzard's move when the lawsuit was filed.

In addition In Game Dollar/Peons4Hire is barred from using the in-game mail or chat to advertise their services. Thank you Blizzard, for moving ahead with this lawsuit.

This case is important because now there is legal precedent set for this type of lawsuit and I would hope that other MMO developers take this and file litigation of their own against other RMT companies.
