Woman accused of killing baby played online games for weeks with body in house

Big Chris was a better parent.
Big Chris was a better parent.

This story is a perfect storm of tragedy. A North Carolina woman stands accused of killing her baby, keeping the body in the house for several weeks and neglecting her other children to play Xbox Live and PC online RPG's (I can't say MMO because the cops never think of those things). From WRAL:

Johni Michelle Heuser, 25, of 1680 Ray Road in Spring Lake, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Harmony Jade Creech. She was being held without bond in the Harnett County Detention Center.

Harmony was reported missing Friday morning, prompting a statewide Amber Alert as local, state and federal authorities scrambled to find the child.

Authorities on Saturday found the baby's body, wrapped in a plastic bag and stuffed in an empty diaper box that had been put in a corner of the attic of the home Heuser was renting. Heuser told investigators that she found the baby dead in her crib several weeks ago and hid the death out of fear.

Several weeks. What was she doing for those several weeks?

In an e-mail to WRAL, a woman who claims to live near the family said she recognized Heuser's game character on her computer.

She said Heuser was online as late as last Thursday to participate in a role-playing game.

My guess? Raiding. Pooping in a sock. Police said the home showed signs of neglect. Smelling like cat ass is one of those signs. Where does this story go from tragic to making Shakespeare weep uncontrollably?

The disappearance was reported the same day that Harmony's father, Sgt. Ronald Creech II, a member of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, returned from a 15-month deployment in Iraq.

Baby was 11 months old. He was gone for 15 months. He never saw his daughter alive.

I heard the Women on Death Row guild needs a healer. If you have kids, tell them you love them, now. Do it.

And call your mothers, they miss you.

Okay maybe this is in poor taste, but...
Does Xbox live actualy have an RPG that's all that engrossing? Surely not FFXI.

DM: From the deepest crypts crawls the undead thread, it's death rattle shakes you to your core. What foul necromantic forces brought forth this foul beast.
Cleric: I attempt to turn undead.
DM: You can't this is a WoW forum D&D magic does not work here.
Cleric: Well guys we are @#$%*%!
Wizard: Agreed, I believe this Necrothread was created by a dread ForumLych, impossible to stop, without a sense of humor.
Fighter: Very well I throw a badge or some other posting reward down at the necrothread and prepare a tactical retreat.
DM: The necrothread pauses at your offer, snaps up the reward and slinks off deeper into the internet.
Rogue: Phwew! That was close... I wonder if there are even more ancient Necrothreads ahead of us?
Fighter: We will only know when we continue on our journey through the crypts of Warcry.

Phantasy Star Universe is the only other one that comes to mind. And it was never really stated in the article if the Xbox was being used for the RPG's. The PC is mentioned by the neighbor.
