It has to be. Here is a game that is firmly planted in the science-fiction genre and the developers decide to "reward" the masochists who stuck around for 3 months with a....wait for it....wearable unicorn head.
I shit you not.

Instead of giving out some of that awesome black armor paint or anything remotely useful, they add a wearable unicorn head. The only reason I can see for this to exist is after taking 7 years and going through 3 complete rebuilds of the entire concept of the game, there must be a metric crap-ton of art assets just lying around. Some 3D artist who worked really, really hard on that unicorn head when he wasn't drawing furry porn for VCL must have put that in as a form of validation.
Oh, my bad it's a SPACE UNICORN or something. Here's an idea, how about getting my Pre-Order item to work on any clone I have made after claiming the item on my first character. That would be worth 3 months of my time.
At least Auto Assault never did this.
