Ever since it became common knowledge that Bioware was working on an MMO in Austin, the leading suspect for what it could be was a Knights of the Old Republic game. Bioware always denied, or offered no comment. But seriously, after Lucas Arts saw what a complete disaster that Star Wars Galaxies had become, thanks to an amazing amount of mis-management, they'd let 5th graders make a Star Wars MMO instead. So for Bioware, makers of one of the most popular Star Wars games known to man, to *NOT* work on a KOTOR MMO, was pretty unlikely.
In Electronic Gaming Monthly, there's a small rumor listed according to CVG:
BioWare has formed a new online team to create a Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic massively multiplayer online game, EGM reports.
No further details were reported in the rumour section of the US magazine but we've taped our fingers crossed. KOTOR is one of our favourite Star Wars games ever and the thoughts of an online MMO is, frankly, too much to take in.
At this point the only thing I think is a rumor is that the online team is new. In response to any Bioware statements about this I have a pre-written answer:
"We're not retarded. Yes you are."
