World of Darkness Online could be here in 4 or 5 years.

Last Friday I was in a press meeting with Magnus Bergsson, CMO of CCP while touring their offices in Reykjavik, Iceland. He had some interesting things to say including:

- World of Darkness MMO could be released in 4 to 5 years, typical with industry average for development

- An EVE Online Mac/Linux native client will be released in August later this year. Penguins in SPAAAAAAACE!

- EVE Online will be making a return to the retail space. EVE Online will have a retail presence in North America, China, and Japan. And the UK, since they are printing in English anyway. This is planned to happen in as little as a couple of months.

- The game has broken the 200,000 player mark. Plans are already in place to upgrade hardware to continue to grow the game. One of CCP's goals is to have more EVE players than Icelanders. They only need around 80,000 more.

I also was able to sit down with Ginger, who many players know as the Events Coordinator, and talk with him about Factional Warfare and some of the other features coming in the Revelations 2 Update. And I had a chance to talk with one of the game's Associate Producers and discuss a bit about some of the EVE Offline products. I hope to have those interviews up later, as well as some details about the 10th Anniversary Party last Saturday.

Oh, and I'll be sure to include some stories about the Reykjavik nightlife, where I only had to deal with the cops once.
