This time it's for real. A three part developer walkthrough from CES has shown up at Gametrailers:

It really doesn't do anything to support why I should play this game over TF2. At all. Certainly, the most awesome thing I can think of when I am playing an MMO is how great it would be if my character could click on a terminal and play.....another SOE game. And since it's SOE and only they could find a way to make that even more ridiculous, they have tied it into the game mechanics so that certain NPCs won't talk to you unless you do well on mini-games. Or poorly on purpose:

During the demo we were given, a character was wandering around a U.N.I.T.E. headquarters and suddenly stopped at a wall mounted monitor to play a game of Q-Bert. Yes, that Q-Bert. They said that mini-games like this would need to be played in order to access hidden messages, so you couldn't get that secret communiqué to get that quest until you beat Q-Bert's third level. Other examples were given concerning poker games, where you had to lose one million dollars in order to attract the attention of a quest-giver playing at the same table.

Brilliant. That sounds like a lot of fun. Where's the slam your hand in a car door mini-game? That sounds like a lot of fun too.
